GOD IS GOOD

Genesis 1:1-4 NLT 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God said light was good. Everything that God created, He said it was good. God is very good.

John 1:4-5 NLT 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. Jesus, the expression of life and the light. God is good, there is no darkness in Him (1 John 1:5). Creation was from His nature, His goodness and He made everything good. You can’t have a dual nature (James 3:11-12). God is always good. There is no evil in Him.

John 8:12 NLT 12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” Jesus is the light of the world. We need to follow Him and we will not walk in darkness. His light leads to life. What we focus on, we will become. We must focus on Jesus and we will have life. He came to destroy the works of darkness (1 John 3:8) so we can walk in His light.

Psalm 119:68 NLT 68 You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees. God is good and does only good. He will teach us His Word.

Psalm 27:13 NKJV 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Do you feel you are losing heart? Then believe that you will see the goodness of the LORD. He is good and does good for us. God is love and loves us so much that He gave us Jesus to die for us to give us good throughout our lives (1 John 4:8).

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NKJV 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [a]puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. This demonstrates God’s love and His goodness. We need to love this way. His love is in us. His love never fails nor His goodness.

Galatians 5:22-23 NLT 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! God is a Spirit and He lives in us. This is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Your heart chooses to live from your spirit or your soul. Choose to live from your spirit.

Psalm 33:5 NKJV 5 He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Don’t focus on evil, focus on the goodness of the Lord. The earth is full of His goodness.

Psalm 145:9 NLT The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. There are a lot of verses that talk about God’s goodness. His goodness leads to repentance (Romans 2:4).

Psalm 86:5 NLT O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. God is so good and full of unfailing love. He wants to forgive you and pour out His love on you.

Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and Your goodness. You are such a good, good Father and give us good things for life and godliness. Your promises are good, Your love is good, You are good. Thank You Lord. In Jesus’ name Amen.
