WALK IN THE SPIRIT PT 8

Hebrews 4;16 NIV 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jude 20 NIV But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

In the May 23 blog I gave five steps to walk in the Spirit daily and experience God’s power. The five steps are: 1) Remove what is slowing you down. 2) Invest daily time with the Lord and His word. 3) Train yourself to choose the Spirit instead of your feelings. 4) Strengthen your spirit with prayer. 5) Act on what God is telling you.

I am going to talk today about #4 which is strengthen your spirit with prayer. I believe Jude 20 is talking about praying in tongues. It says we can build ourselves up in our most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit.

In Hebrews 4:16 it says we are to approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. God wants us to approach Him. He loves us and through the blood of Jesus, He has made us worthy to approach Him. He wants to give you mercy and grace to help you. He desires a close relationship with you. As we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us (James 4:8).

There is peace in His presence. Approach Him confidently. That is what prayer is, approaching Him confidently, talking to Him and drawing closer to Him. He hears our prayers and answers us. If we continually approach God and pray in the Holy Spirit, we will strengthen our spirit and experience God’s power.

Thank You Father for sending Jesus to die for me so that I can approach Your throne of grace with confidence and receive Your mercy and grace in my time of need. Thank You that I can strengthen my spirit with prayer, daily walk in the Spirit and experience Your power. In Jesus name Amen.
