FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT-LOVE
Galatians 5:22-23 TPT But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace the pursues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!
This fruit is Holy Spirit’s character and conduct and it dwells within you because Holy Spirit dwells within you. I like the way TPT reads regarding the fruit of the Holy Spirit. There are nine characteristics of this fruit but they all come from love in all its varied expressions.
Today I am going to talk about love. God is love (1 John 4:8) and anyone who does not love does not know Him. If you know Him and are a child of God then you will love one another. His love is the foundation to all the fruit as this verse in TPT shows. Without His love, the other fruit will not manifest.
First, His love is patient which covers a multiple of sins. Do not be boastful or proud thinking you are better than others. You are to think of others better than yourself and be helpful to them (Phil 2:4) and do not be rude. His love does not demand its own way. You are to listen to the other person and discuss in love for an agreeable answer. The Lord knows when you are keeping a record of wrongdoing done to you from certain people. His love does not keep a record of wrongdoing nor is it irritable.
You have His love dwelling in you. He will help you to walk in this love and be forgiving. You are not to be irritable and annoyed by others. Allow His love to flow through you to that annoying person. Forgive them. Keeping a record of their wrongdoing only causes more irritation.
His love never gives up or loses faith. It is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance. He loves you so very much and wants you to experience His love and allow it to manifest in your life so you can love others. It is impossible to love the unlovable and walk in forgiveness without this fruit of divine love produced by the Holy Spirit flowing through you.
Father, thank You for providing the the Holy Spirit and His fruit to dwell in me. Since I have Holy Spirit dwelling in me, I am able to walk in love and be forgiving. I want Your love to manifest in my life and walk in the Spirit and all His fruit. In Jesus name Amen.
